Peter Diamandis, the founder of the XPRIZE, announced a new challenge this week — and the Next Generation Initiative is working with him to find a few Greek American heroes willing to accept his latest challenge through HeroX.
Based on the incredibly successful XPRIZE model — which created the $10 million Ansari XPRIZE competition, and ushered in a new era of commercial space exploration and applications — HeroX is an open, online platform designed to help anyone, anywhere in the world, solve big problems, by facilitating breakthrough innovation.
The Challenge from Peter Diamandis
“Innovation is as Greek as democracy or philosophy. Which is why I am particularly proud to challenge you — my fellow Greek Americans, and especially young Greek Americans — to uphold that tradition, make your own breakthroughs, and become the next generation of heroes — by answering the Hero X challenge.”
Like Dr. Diamandis, we believe in the power of competition. It’s part of our DNA.
We also believe that the world’s biggest problems can also present the world’s biggest opportunities. As he says,
“Solve a big problem, and you can help a billion people.”
And we share Dr. Diamandis’ belief that solutions can come from anyone, anywhere — and that some of the greatest minds of our time remain untapped, ready to be engaged by a world that is in need of all the help it can get.
Which is why we are looking for modern-day heroes — especially young Greek Americans — who ready to take on big problems, using the Hero X platform.
If you have been following us, you know that we have met some amazing young Greek Americans through the Initiative — young minds, eager and ready to change the world and take on big challenges — and we know there are plenty more where they came from.
Are you ready to make your own big breakthrough? Or maybe you know a young Greek American who may have a great way to solve a big problem that’s plaguing the world (or your community).
Well, with HeroX it’s become a whole lot easier to build support for a breakthrough — and make it a reality.
The only question left is, “What problem do you want to solve?”
If you, or someone you know, can identify a big problem that needs to be solved, and are ready to create a challenge to address that problem — then you are ready to become NextGen Heroes!
Together with Dr. Diamandis, we are inviting you to create your own challenge using the tools available at HeroX.
When you do, please make sure to let us know — at firstname.lastname@example.org — so that we can follow your progress, share your challenge with our supporters, and cheer you on!
We are proud to join Peter Diamandis in inviting our students, alumni, mentors and professors, to answer the HeroX challenge. We hope you will take advantage of this amazing opportunity to become a NextGen Hero, and become a driving force in changing the world.
