The Next Generation Initiative is now accepting applications for the 2016 Archimedes Award — a scholarship for outstanding Greek American students pursuing studies and careers in science, technology, engineering or math (STEM) related fields.
The Archimedes Award and its accompanying scholarship is open to graduating high school seniors of Hellenic heritage who are on track to be first-year university students, and who will be pursuing STEM studies at a recognized institution of higher learning in the United States.
Finalists will be selected by an independent committee of university professors and experts with records of experience in STEM education. Candidates must complete their applications by March 25, 2016, in order to be considered for a 2016-17 scholarship.
The Archimedes Award was founded by high-tech entrepreneur Dr. Andrew Economos, a strong supporter of education who is stepping forward to help young Greek Americans who share his passion for science and learning, and encourage Hellenic American students to excel in these fields. We are once again pleased to be able to offer this means of advancing the careers of young people, and to be able to do so in areas of such vital interest to our nation. More information about the Archimedes Award, previous winners, and coverage in the press, is available online at www.hellenext.org.
