The Athens Fellowship
Summer 2009
Call for Applications
The Next Generation Initiative is pleased to announce its national Call for Applications for the Summer 2009 Athens Fellowship.
The Athens Fellowship is the first international leadership program for outstanding U.S. undergraduate and graduate students which focuses on Greece.
As in previous years, Athens Fellows will undertake an innovative, fast-paced and very intensive program of high-level seminars and master classes with leaders in government and various fields and industries in Greece, preceded by a series of briefings and meetings in Washington, DC.
The Initiative welcomes applications from all outstanding undergraduate and graduate university students of Hellenic descent, especially those Greek American university students who have previously had only fairly limited opportunities to spend much time in Greece. This invitation is particularly extended — but not limited — to those highly-qualified undergraduate students in the fields of political science, economics, finance, international relations, journalism and related fields.
From its beginning, this prestigious program has attracted outstanding students from leading universities and colleges from across the United States. Previous Athens Fellows include students from Brown, Harvard, Vanderbilt and Yale Universities, Boston College, Dartmouth, Dickinson, Miami of Ohio, Occidental and the Universities of Chicago, Florida, North Carolina and Pennsylvania as well as from Arizona State, George Washington University, Hollins, James Madison, New York University, MIT and Stanford.
How to Apply
There are a limited number of spaces available for this year’s Athens Fellowship, June 23 - July 4th. Résumés, along with cover letters from applicants, will be accepted beginning April 20, 2008. Interested students should send their résumés to athensfellowship@hellenext.org.
