Rising to the challenge
An inside look at how leaders tackle today’s pressing problems can give students more than just a glimpse of the complex issues future leaders will face. It can also inspire young men and women to take up great challenges themselves.
Talk to a leader in almost any field, and you’ll often find that it was a memorable encounter that inspired them to embark on difficult endeavors or lofty pursuits. Our world-class leadership forums hope to do just that — challenge the next generation to aim higher, and go further.
Opportunities like our Athens Fellowship and Master Class programs — which bring next generation students together with world-class leaders — can give students valuable insight into the pressing issues and concerns of the day, from the point of view of some of the brightest minds and influential leaders in their respective fields.
First-hand experience...
Each of our leadership forums is centered on an intensive encounter where students have exciting opportunities to learn directly from leading figures in a particular field or industry — and benefit from first-hand observation of the skills these leaders bring to bear on the problems they face on a daily basis, and the insights they can offer into the challenges they confront in their fields and professions in today’s rapidly changing world.
...at the highest level...
Focusing on select fields of significance to our global community, and held in an array of world-class locations, each of our leadership forums bring young scholars and highly-motivated students together for a series of informal talks, briefings or meetings with leading players in a particular field — from corporate leaders, industry experts and researchers, to policy-makers, newsmakers and journalists drawn from our Next Generation network, as well as from their networks of contacts and colleagues from around the world.
When possible, our leadership forums are complemented with related one-on-one shadowing opportunities, as well as outstanding individual internship opportunities, either with the leaders, professionals and organizations represented during a student’s internship or fellowship, or with others at a similar level.
...for a broad spectrum of students
To make it possible for a broad spectrum of students from our community to take advantage of the opportunities our programs offer, participation in our leadership forums, aside from the cost of personal travel, is provided at no cost to students, with the main portion of student participation in our forums underwritten by the sponsors of our program.
